Print FAQs
| Q |
01) I turn the power on, and nothing happens. No lights, no
noise, no control panel, nothing. |
| A |
There can be a lot in a printer that will cause this problem,
and we'll go over the most obvious first.
Corrective measures:
Power cord.
- Make sure the power cord is plugged in on both ends.
Pull it out, and push it back in.
- Make sure the power cord is in good condition. Check for
tears or kinks. If the wire is severely kinked, or if there
are any tears in the rubber insulation, throw the power cord
away. Place a call at Cincinnati Printer Repair
- Check the printer where the power cord plugs in. With
the cord plugged in, the connection should feel tight and
secure. If you are able to jiggle it around, or if the cord
comes out easily, Place a call at Cincinnati Printer Repair
Power Outlet
- Check the power outlet on the wall. The plug should fit
into the outlet, and not jiggle around. It should feel nice and
firm. If not, you need an electrician.
- Plug something else into the outlet to make sure that you
have power there. If you plug a radio into the outlet, and
have similar problems, you need an electrician.
- If you are using a power strip, make sure it is working
properly, and that it is turned on.
Power switch
- If your power switch is mechanical, make sure that you
hear or feel a click when it is engaged. If not, you may need
a new power switch. Place a call at Cincinnati Printer Repair
- If your switch is electrical (if, when you push it,
nothing physically moves) check to see if it is pressed in
or looks out of place. If so, it could be that the board that
this switch connects to is broken or off track. Place a call at
Cincinnati Printer Repair
Print Cartridge
- Make sure your print cartridge is seated properly.
- Try replacing your print cartridge.
Doors and panels
- Check all of the doors, panels, and lids to make sure they
are closed properly.
